Workers' Memorial Day
Workers' Memorial Day is an annual event held each April. The Hazards Campaign has produced a model letter which you are invited to send to your local MP or Minister of State to ask for their support.
Over five million people at work in the UK regularly do unpaid overtime, giving their employers £25 billion of free work every year. If you're one of them, why not take some time to reflect on how well (or badly) you're balancing your life?
24thth February 2006 is the day when the average person who does unpaid overtime finishes the unpaid days they do every year, and starts earning for themselves.
To inaugurate this new section we are pleased to announce a major update to various sections in the website and the publishing of several new pages such as stress risk assessment, why tackle stress and what to do about stress. We have also published for the first time our new information pack which will tell you all about the work of the Network and which contains all the information published in these web pages. Because this is a major reorganisation, there will invitably be some links which do not work to strart with, so we would ask you to kindly report any you come across to the web editor by clicking on the "contact" button above.
In the near future the site will also adopt a fresh new look which will be easier for all, including the disabled, to read and will mean that we can in time do away with the old Bobby section. The Bobby section will therefore cease to be updated from today.
In response to suggestions from our regular visitors, we intend to publish news about work-related stress and related subjects on this page from now on instead of on the downloads page as in the past so that the downloads page can be kept exclusively for that very purpose. We hope that you will regard that an a welcome improvement in our service and that you will continue to enjoy your visits to our website!
Remember, your comments and suggestions are always valued!
